Celebrating Our Teachers: Marblehead Beacon's Teacher Appreciation Week Effort
In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, celebrated this year from May 8 to 12, 2023, Marblehead Beacon reached out to our community to ask parents and students for nominations of special teachers who have played an important role in their lives. The response has been inspiring, with those writing in describing their teachers as “supportive and helpful,” “genuinely caring,” and having “a unique quality that is pure magic to observe.”
Over the course of this week, we will be publishing a series of profiles of select teachers, culminating in a final piece honoring all our nominees. Although the nomination deadline has passed, we are still accepting commendations throughout the course of this week. If you would like to have a quote about your favorite teacher included in Marblehead Beacon’s “Featured Teachers” article and newsletter, please reach out with your name (indicating whether you are submitting as a parent or a student), your teacher’s name, grade, and school, and a one-to-two sentence quote about this teacher’s special qualities.
Our first honored teacher is Candice Sliney, who teaches Spanish at Marblehead High School. Please stay tuned for additional profiles throughout the week.
