DOUG THOMPSON CAMPAIGN EMBARKS ON MARATHON TOUR OF THE 8TH ESSEX DISTRICT OVER LABOR DAY WEEKEND

MARBLEHEAD - Doug Thompson, candidate for State Representative in the 8^th Essex district, today begins a marathon tour of every street in the 8^th Essex District in Marblehead, Swampscott and Lynn.

 “I have walked the 8^th Esses district over the past 5 months knocking on the doors of over 6,000 homes”, stated Thompson.  “I have learned so much from people I’ve met in Marblehead, Swampscott and Lynn.  Now, I’m looking forward to my campaign coming back to every street in the district.   We’re sharing my message to keep moving the North Shore forward.”

Thompson is a health care expert with decades of experience in the public and private sector.  He is uniquely qualified to drive large-scale change because he has been doing it for the past 25 years.  He previously served as the Chief Financial Officer of MassHealth, managing a budget of $8.5 billion through the entire legislative process multiple times.  Thompson was also a senior leader at Cambridge Health Alliance and Neighborhood Health Plan and was the founder and CEO of Perfect Health, a company that provides primary care and mental health services to frail seniors at home in six states.  His work in healthcare has helped 5,000 district residents get better care and saved district taxpayers millions of dollars.
