This wonderful yearly holiday tradition continues with talented dance students from the North Shore who will perform in the 2022 GSBC Nutcracker.  This year, the leads come from Marblehead, Salem, Swampscott  Peabody, Danvers, and Lynn.  There are 110 kids plus 7 adults in this semi-professional rendition of this classic.  The leading role of Clara is performed by Genevieve DePasquale.  This is a great way to see an iconic ballet so close to home in the beautifully restored Lynn Auditorium.  A truly family oriented show, this classic ballet is always fresh and timeless as the Nutcracker story is told through dance.  For the younger children, this production is a great introduction to the magical world of ballet and classical music, but both children and adults are entranced as they follow Clara on her magical journey.  It’s always a pleasure to watch the professional dancers and upcoming youth dancers perform!  The details of the costumes and the scenery, coupled with the lovely choreography do inspire the young ones in the audience who dream to one day be on that stage too!

GSBC is a Non-Profit Organization based at Performing Arts Academy in Salem, MA.  Its goal is to give dance students an opportunity to perform locally in professional quality  productions while learning in a warm, encouraging, and nurturing environment.  Directors Seanna Chmura and Susan Byrne bring more than 20 years of experience producing The Nutcracker. The Cavalier the Sugar Plum are both with the Festival Ballet Providence.
