Marblehead Police Announce Upcoming Citizen Police Academy
The Marblehead chapter of TRIAD is pleased to announce that we will be conducting a Citizen Police Academy (CPA) beginning Friday, September 9, 2022 The program will be nine weeks meeting once per week from 9:30am-12:30pm. The goal is to provide Citizens with a better understanding of the Law enforcement profession, as taught by members of the Marblehead Police Department. Topics will include the history of the Marblehead Police Department and modern policing, Criminal Law and Procedure, Traffic enforcement and Defensive Tactics. There will also be a welcome introduction from Chief Dennis A. King, a tour of the Marblehead Police Station, presentation from the Essex County House of Correction and K-9 unit, a visit to Salem Superior court, a meeting with judges culminating with a graduation ceremony.
The application is available at the Marblehead Council on Aging and the Marblehead Police Department. Class size is limited and will be open to Marblehead residents. Applicants must be able to commit to attending each session and submit to a Criminal Offender Record Information (C.O.R.I.) check and driving history as part of the application process.
