Mental Makeover to hold the 2nd annual “The World Needs You Here” Walk 7/30/23

On July 30th, Mental Makeover will host the 2nd Annual “The World Needs You Here” Walk. The 3-mile walk is scheduled to begin at 10 AM on the Salem Common (registration will begin at 9:00 AM). Funds raised will support Mental Makeover on their mission to change the WAY mental health is approached in our local communities and beyond through Wellness, Awareness, and Youth Education. Additionally, a portion of funds will go towards the Sarah Starion Memorial Scholarship at Salem High School.

The World Needs You Here Walk is a community-wide event to spread awareness about mental health, mental wellness, and suicide prevention. The walk will serve as a way for community members to come together in a safe space to share their stories and support each other, while amplifying the message: we are not alone. As a community, we walk in memory of the loved ones lost to suicide, for survivors of suicide, for those who have experienced suicidal thoughts, and for those currently struggling with their mental health. The Mental Makeover team was born and raised in Salem, and consider their community to be one of the most vital aspects of what they do at Mental Makeover. 

Last year TWNYH Walk had over 300 participants and raised $27,000 to support the mission of Mental Makeover. You can register or donate online here today! There will be music, games, a variety of vendors and community partners, free swag, and delicious food & drink from Jamie’s Roast Beef and American Flatbread. We were blown away by the amount of support and participants we received at last year's walk and can't wait to join together as a community again for this incredibly powerful event!
