I am writing to urge all of us to take a collective deep breath

The last week as a parent of young children at the outset of their academic careers in Marblehead has been devastating to watch. I don’t think anyone can observe the current climate in our community with anything but absolute heartbreak for our children, faculty and staff.

I am writing to urge all of us to take a collective deep breath and commit to coming together to work collaboratively on behalf of our children and educators to continue to make the Marblehead Public Schools truly exceptional—no matter the outcome of the current controversy. We have a lot of hard work facing us, and we are going to need the entire community to put aside differences of opinion and work together—it’s the least we can do for our children.
