Tom McMahon Will Bring Breath of Fresh Air

We support Tom McMahon in his candidacy for the Marblehead Board of Health. Here’s why.

The current Board of Health seems out of touch with the community they serve. The complex issues of the past few years require a Board that listens, not dictates. We need some new blood. Tom McMahon understands that the physical health of the Town goes hand-in-hand with the economic health of the Town, and that Town services impacted by BOH decisions, such as the Transfer Station, should be more responsive to the townspeople who use them.

Tom seems committed to fully understanding issues that come before him. He knows Marblehead from a boots-on-the-ground perspective. Best of all, he believes in being responsive to the very people who have to live with the decisions of the Board of Health.

Born and raised in Marblehead, Tom is now raising his own young family here. He has worked side-by-side with ‘Headers – blue collar guys, merchants, and financial pros. He is committed to Marblehead. We think he will bring a breath of fresh air to the Board of Health: open and honest, frank-spoken, realistic, fiscally responsible. And energetic.

We’ve been neighbors with Tom McMahon and his family for more than six years. We’re Marblehead homeowners and year-round residents. We shop and dine local. We think moving to Marblehead is the best decision we ever made, and we want to keep it that way. Tom McMahon’s energy, his listening approach, his common touch, and his fiscal background have convinced us to vote for him for Board of Health on Tuesday, June 21.
